Main Presentation: This month we welcome Richard Pifer. Richard is the retired Director of Public Services for Library-Archives Division of the Wisconsin Historical Society. He holds a PhD in American history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His historical research has focused on the Wisconsin home front during the first and second World Wars. In cooperation with his wife, Marjorie Hannon Pifer, he recently completed a book on World War I. This is the 100th anniversary of World War I culminating in November 2018. Richard will be presenting on his recently completed book, The Great War Comes to Wisconsin: Sacrifice, Patriotism, and Free Speech in a Time of Crisis.
